***NEW MCNAUGHTON PAINTING***
"The Demise of America"

Many Americans today feel a sense of dismay and horror as we see our country in a downward spiral;  economically, morally, and politically. President Obama's continuous list of scandals and bad policy are leading the country to ruin.

Nero himself may have set the great fire that burned a part of Rome during his leadership. Afterwards, he blamed it on the Christians who suffered great persecution under his rule. I see great similarities to what we are experiencing today.

Pravda Agrees to Give John McCain Editorial Space to Criticize Putin
by Noah Rothman |

The New York Time's decision to give Russian President Vladimir Putin editorial space to criticize President Barack Obama, American foreign policy, and even the notion of American exceptionalism has frustrated many. A number of critics in the United States hypothetically suggested that a Russian newspaper should give Americana lawmakers space to freely criticize Putin and the Russian Federation. On Friday, the Russian newspaper Pravda tentatively agreed to allow Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) space to do just that.

"If John McCain wants to write something for us, he is welcome," said Dmitry Sudakov, Pravda's executive editor in an exclusive report in Foreign Policy magazine. "Mr. McCain has been an active anti-Russian politician for many years already."

"We have been critical of his stance on Russia and international politics in our materials, but we would be only pleased to publish a story penned by such a prominent politician as John McCain," Sudakov continued.

(Did Time Magazine get the message from the 2 Million Motorcyclists?)

Newsweek Cover: Hit the Road Barack
Sunday, 19 Aug 2012 09:19 PM

Newsweek magazine is targeting its latest controversial cover at the Obama administration. It's part of a devastating story written by esteemed British historian Niall Ferguson telling President Obama that it's time to go and that the only team that can possibly turn the country around is the Romney-Ryan ticket.

"In his inaugural address, Obama promised 'not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.'" Ferguson writes in the cover story, "Hit the Road, Barack: Why We Need a New President."

"He promised to 'build the roads and bridges, the electric grids, and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.' He promised to 'restore science to its rightful place and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost.'" wrote Ferguson, who made some of the same arguments in a March 2012 Newsmax cover story, "Decision Time." "And he promised to 'transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.' Unfortunately the president's scorecard on every single one of those bold pledges is pitiful."

"Welcome to Obama's America: nearly half the population is not represented on a taxable return—almost exactly the same proportion that lives in a household where at least one member receives some type of government benefit," Ferguson writes. "We are becoming the 50–50 nation—half of us paying the taxes, the other half receiving the benefits."

Americans were backing Miss Kansas -- but the liberal Miss America judges were not interested in a gun-toting , deer-hunting, military veteran.

(Even my great niece in Texas was backing Miss Kansas. She told me before the show was over (via facebook), "If Miss Kansas doesn't win, it's rigged."

I didn't watch it because I didn't know it was on.

Report: Obuma May Meet With Iran's New President At U.N.

(Just because he called for the annihilation of the Jewish state doesn't
mean Obuma shouldn't meet with him, right?)

Via Guardian:
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/15/obama-rouhani-united-nations-meeting

An exchange of letters between Barack Obama and the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, has set the stage for a possible meeting between the two men at the UN next week in what would be the first face-to-face encounter between a US and Iranian leader since Iran's 1979 revolution.

Britain's foreign secretary, William Hague, is also due to meet his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the UN general assembly meeting in New York, adding to guarded optimism that the June election of Rouhani, a Glasgow-educated moderate, and his appointment of a largely pragmatic cabinet, has opened the door to a diplomatic solution to the 11-year international standoff over Iran's nuclear programme.

Tehran took the Foreign Office by surprise, tweeting on Rouhani's English-language feed that the president would also be prepared to meet Hague, something the UK had not even requested.

"Tehran has responded positively to UK's request. President Rouhani's meeting w/WilliamJHague on the sidelines of UNGA has been confirmed," the tweet said.

"We would be happy to meet," a Foreign Office spokeswoman said, "but we have had nothing formal from Tehran about it."

Diplomats said that the tweet reflected the new Iranian government's eagerness to make diplomatic headway on the nuclear issue, which has been at an impasse for several years. A Hague meeting with either Rouhani or Zarif could clear the way to restoring full diplomatic ties, which have not existed since the British embassy in Tehran was ransacked by a mob in November 2011.

In a television interview aired on Sunday, Obama made clear that there was a diplomatic opening with Iran, not only over the nuclear question but also over Syria. He confirmed earlier reports that he and Rouhani had "reached out" to each other, exchanging letters.
