"Gun-Controlled" Chicago: 6 Shot Dead,
17 Wounded In Shootings Since Friday

(Obuma-Town)

Via Chicago Sun-Times:

Six men were killed and at least 17 people — including a 6-year-old girl — were wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night.

Asked Sunday about Chicago's reputation in the wake of another violent weekend, Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he's primarily "concerned about the safety and security of our neighborhoods, and our residents."

He again pushed for a three-year sentencing minimum for gun crimes — calling it the "weak link" in the city's crime-fighting strategy. And he said it's time to replace the "code of silence" with a "moral code."

Tingles, HOST: Andrew, are we going to be – being we Americans, you included – are we going to be the great, are we still going to use that word superpower? I don't even like it very much. The lone superpower. Are we going to be that 20 years from now?

ANDREW SULLIVAN: With any luck we won't be.

Zimmerman Emerges From Hiding To Rescue Someone Trapped
In Truck On Florida Highway –

Update: Family Of Four Was Trapped Inside Burning Vehicle

Not the circumstances the left was hoping for, is it?)

Via ABC News:
George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue someone who was trapped in an overturned truck, police said today.

Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe told ABC News that Zimmerman "pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over" at the intersection of a Florida highway last week. Florida Highway Patrol is now handling the case, McAuliffe said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route 417, police said.

It's the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.

Update:

(NBC News) — Police say George Zimmerman helped rescue a family trapped in a burning vehicle on a Florida highway last week, Zimmerman's first known public sighting since his acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The incident occurred on July 17 in Sanford, Fla., near the intersection of Interstate 4 and State Road 46, officials confirmed to NBC News. The rescue was first reported by ABC News.

Zimmerman and another man were assisting a family of four when officers with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene of the accident. A blue Ford Explorer had traveled off the road and rolled over and caught fire, according to officials.

Zimmerman and the other man were helping the two children and their parents get out of the overturned vehicle, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said. The former neighborhood watch volunteer left the scene after making contact with police and did not witness the crash.

Palestinians Claim 'Lurch' Gave Abbas Letter Guaranteeing New Peace Talks With Israel Would Be Based On Pre-1967 Borders

(I wouldn't be surprised... U.S. officials are denying it)

JERUSALEM (TheBlaze/AP) — Israel's pre-1967 borders will be the basis of renewed peace talks between Palestine and Israel, according to a letter U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry gave to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas which guaranteed the stipulation.

After Abbas received the Kerry letter, he agreed to resume peace talks with Israel, two senior Palestinian officials said Saturday.

The officials, both of whom are close to the Palestinian leader and privy to internal discussions, said the U.S. letter also stipulated that both sides are to refrain from taking any steps that would jeopardize the outcome of the talks.

Israel is not to issue new tenders for Jewish settlements in the West Bank, while the Palestinians are not to pursue diplomatic action against Israel at any international organizations, the officials said on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to brief the media.

"The talks with Kerry were about to collapse, and the letter came as a lifeline in the last minute bargaining," one of the Palestinian officials said.

Report: Rolling Stones, Madonna, Rod Stewart To Join
Stevie Wonder's Boycott Of Florida

(The geriatric rockers brigade... I wouldn't walk across the street to watch them)

Via The Hill:
A group of some of the music industry's biggest acts are joining Stevie Wonder in boycotting Florida over the state's controversial "Stand Your Ground" law, a source close to the legendary musician told American Urban Radio Network's April Ryan.

Artists joining Wonder reportedly include Rod Stewart, Madonna, Usher, and Justin Timberlake. Rappers Jay Z, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy and Wale have also signed on to the boycott threat, as have pop acts like R. Kelly, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys.

Wonder announced his intended boycott the day after a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder charges stemming from the death of Trayvon Martin.

WaPo Poll: 86% of Blacks Disapprove Of Zimmerman Verdict, Majority Of Whites Agree With Acquittal

(The Race Baiters [including Barack Obuma] got exactly what they wanted)

Via Washington Post:

African Americans have a mostly shared and sharply negative reaction to the shooting of Trayvon Martin and the not-guilty verdict in the resulting trial, while whites are far more divided, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

At least eight in 10 African Americans say the shooting of the Florida teenager was unjustified, recoil at the verdict in the trial and want the shooter, George Zimmerman, tried in federal court for violating Martin's civil rights.

On the Martin shooting in particular, the racial gaps are extremely wide.

Among African Americans, 87 percent say the shooting was unjustified; among whites, just 33 percent say so. A slim majority of whites (51 percent) approve of the not-guilty verdict in the Zimmerman trial, while African Americans overwhelmingly and strongly disapprove. Some 86 percent of blacks disagree with the verdict — almost all of them disapproving "strongly."

There is also a partisan tinge to the public views. Among whites, 70 percent of Republicans but only 30 percent of Democrats say they approve of the verdict.

MSNBC's Creepy Ass Nigga Al 'Not To Sharp'...ton Brags About Race Baiting Zimmerman Trial:

"I Helped Organize A Lot Of The Outrage Around This"

. . . MSNBC anchor Craig Melvin asked Sharpton to respond to radio host Tavis Smiley who, on NBC's Meet The Press, said that he was frustrated by the fact that the president had to be "pushed" to make it in the first place.

Sharpton declined to echo Smiley's assertion. "I helped organize a lot of the outrage around this," Sharpton said. "None of it was focused on pushing the president. It was pushing legislation and pushing the criminal justice system."

Poll: Only 11% of Doctors Have Confidence In Obamacare

(Or as Ding-bat HHS Chief Sebelius calls them... racists)
Via CNBC:

The doctor is . . . skeptical about the Affordable Care Act. And clueless, too.

A new survey shows that an overwhelming percentage of physicians don't believe that their states' new health insurance exchanges will meet the Oct. 1 deadline for those key Obamacare marketplaces to begin enrolling the uninsured.

Just 11 percent of doctors believe those exchanges will be open for business that day.

But those doctors, by a wide margin, also said they are "not at all familiar" with how a number of important aspects of those exchanges and plans offered on them will work—aspects that will directly affect their bottom lines. More than 65 percent of them gave that answer to all but one of the questions asking their familiarity with plan benefits levels, contracted rates with insurers, patient coverage terms and the claims process.
