Muslims are torching cars and assaulting police after a woman in a Paris suburb was stopped by police for wearing a veil.
Russia Today reported:
Hundreds have clashed with police in a Paris suburb after a Muslim woman was stopped for wearing a veil. The Muslim community contests the police version of events, while nationalists blame France's immigration policy.

A crowd of some 250 people collected outside the police station of the gritty Paris suburb of Trappes in response to the arrest of a Muslim man who police say assaulted them after they checked the identity of a woman wearing an Islamic veil.

"Her husband reacted in a hostile fashion, insulting and hitting the policemen. The man was placed in custody for that reason," Jean-Marc Galland, a senior official for Yvelines region, told Reuters.

"On Friday, there were demands for clarification from people in the town who did not understand the arrest," he added.

But Prosecutor Vincent Lesclous later told reporters that the man had in-fact tried to strangle a police officer.

The crowd soon turned violent, setting fire to bins and hurling stones at the police and the police station.

Rep. Cedric [Cedric???] Richmond (D-La.) on Sunday praised President Obama for addressing the controversy over the Trayvon Martin case, saying he also shared Obama's personal experiences with discrimination.

"The president said that was him 35 years ago. That's me on a daily basis... and especially when I'm home in New Orleans and I'm dressed down," said Richmond on CNN's "State of the Union." "It's something that black men still go through to this day, which is women clutching their purses, hitting the lock button on store, or just basic attitudes.

"Even as a U.S. congressman, as a nigga man, it is very, very frustrating, and you build up an internal anger about it that you can't act on," he added.

In remarks on Friday Obama said that African-Americans experienced prejudice on a daily basis and that he had also been a victim of racial profiling.

"Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago," said the president.

Rallies held across the nation Saturday not only called for "Justice for Trayvon," but also boycotts for anything connected to Florida. The National Actions Network rally in Las Vegas even appealed to star athletes like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to quit their teams.

Gene Collins, local affiliate president of National Actions Network and long-time activist and community organizer, addressed the crowd and made the unusual requests in his remarks, according to Breitbart News.

"It is not about National Action Network, it is not about Gene Collins, it is about the social change we are seeking in this community," Collins said, according to Breitbart. "Today is a day the Lord has made to demonstrate to the state of Florida and other states who has passed laws who are bias to black and brown people of this race.

"We are here also to ask our sports icons LeBron James, Dwyane Wade ... and other professional players in baseball and football to change franchises and play for another franchise until the state of Florida recognizes there has to be change."

"We are also asking the collegiate athletes who have signed contracts and who have signed letters of intent to play for various universities to transfer to another university until the governor of the state of Florida calls a special session and changes the laws so that African American males and females, black and brown kids will be safe in the state of Florida," Collins added.

Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan are bribing starving children as young as eight years old to plant deadly roadside booby traps, be decoys in ambushes and even act as suicide bombers.

Despite the Islamic fundamentalists' claim they have no children in their ranks, extremists have been actively recruiting orphaned and homeless young boys and training them to use guns, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and suicide vests.

In return, they ply the desperate youngsters with sweets and chocolate, an investigation for Channel 4's Dispatches programme has learned.

Afghan orphan Neaz told how he was just eight when he was promised a handful of coins by Taliban fighters to convert him to their cause. The boy had been tending his father's flock of sheep when coalition forces bombed his village.

'The Taliban were hiding in our house when a helicopter came and bombed us,' he said. 'My father was hit in his heart and his head, he was torn apart. My mother was hit in the chest and died. I have no one.'

In the immediate aftermath of the raid, Neaz was kidnapped by Taliban leaders and taken to a nearby town and shown how to use guns and make IEDs. They plied him with sweets and he was initially delighted when they said they planned to bring him an extra-special gift – a suicide vest packed with bullets and grenades.

'They made me try it on. The grenades went all around my body and then they offered me the coins [50 Afghanis – about 60p],' he said. 'They told me to blow myself up at a checkpoint. I asked what I'd do with the money if I had to blow myself up. But they kept encouraging me, telling me that if I did it I would go to heaven.'

The Freedom from Religion Foundation wants the proposed Statehouse Holocaust memorial changed by removing what it sees as the Jewish religious symbolism of the Star of David.

In a June 14 letter to Richard H. Finan, chairman of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, two foundation officials said they have no objections to a Holocaust memorial at the Statehouse. However, architect Daniel Libeskind's design includes a cut-out version of a 6-pointed star, usually interepreted as the Star of David, a symbol associated with Judiasm. Arguably, that would be a violation of the separation of church and state set out in the U.S. Constitution, the foundation said.

"Permitting one permanent sectarian and exclusionary religious symbol...would create the legal precedent, for instance, to place an equally large or larger permanent Latin cross on Capitol grounds," wrote Don Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-presidents of the Madison, Wisc., group. They said the Holocaust memorial, as now envisiioned, would amount to a "constitutionally problematic endorsement of religion."

Barker and Gaylor said the memorial, at least syimbolically, excludes 5 million non-Jews killed in the Holocaust, including Roma Gypsies, homosexuals, the disabled, and others.

Supporters argue that Libeskind's design, which incorporates special wording etched in bronze and stone, respresents all victims of the World War II Holocaust as well as the Ohioans who participated in the liberation of the Nazi death camps.

MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews said the famous Washington NBC studio would be known "finally and forever" for airing The Chris Matthews Show, which aired its final episode Sunday.

Among other historic moments, the studio hosted the historic first televised presidential debate between Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy in 1960:
