Red, you and Brian Wilson missed the most important thing about "self esteem" (tho' I agree with what he said about Obuma). A Church-goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.  He says,"I've gone for 30 years now, and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons.  But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor.  It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today and no self esteem!"

The way I look at it, Red, is when you are DOWN to nothing... God is UP to something!  As my Pastor says, "Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!."  So I say, Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!  Remember, when Satan is knocking at your door , simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"  Now that's self esteem.

And who else benefits from Food Stamps? The person who created the food, that the person who used the food stamps bought in the store.  You ever hear of the working poor? The people who hold multiple jobs, but need Food Stamps to make it? Many of the kids I taught in Maryland were in that category. They worked, but had large families, so their paycheck didn't go very far. I suppose nobody out there ever needs help.  No kids are ever on reduced or free lunches or get food stamps. Kansasans are all so wealthy...yeah, right. Pull your nose back down or you may drown, if it ever rains again. A few of you should really be ashamed of yourselves.
    Just as those nasty folks who work for Government, in any capacity, support the economy by spending their money, usually locally.  When ya need to work or need to sell something retail to many your living, do you really care the political party of the person handing over the money you just earned?
  I just bought a second refrigerator for our garage. Do you really think I care how the young sales man will vote in November? I just know I was free to buy whatever I could afford without a quota or Gov't interference of any kind and I contributed to his living too.
  Teachers buy housing, food, supplies, clothes, fuel, vehicles, furniture, pay for repairs and everything else a middle class person purchases. They buy whatever the local kids are peddling, donate to whatever needs donating to, support their local communities in any way they can, but to some on here they are the sworn enemy.That is so sad and short sighted it makes me sick.
   OK, the next batch of cukes are done brining, so I'll get off the soap box and go make some more pickles.

Quite a socialist rant there, Diane.  Where do you say the money comes from to give to all these government handouts? 

By the way, have your read "Not Yours To Give" lately.  You might want to study it before you make any more pickles.

  Uh, excuse me? My income now, earned that is, is from a small business I own. I am paid by the owners of the businesses I teach for.  Safety classes, CPR, first aid, evacuation programs or fire extinguishers...where did you get the idea it's tax money?
The stuff I do in schools, like the day camps I just finished, is all volunteer. Now why are you jumping on me again? YOU ARE WRONG!   Besides ,according to jar I'm so rich I shouldn't have to work.    HA!
      Red, you wouldn't know a real socialist if you fell over him. Your knowledge of the subject is extremely light weight and mostly filtered through bloggers who have their own agenda. 
Try this ... Name several Socialist Countries. Now compare and contrast Socialism with Communism. Now name some Communist countries. How are they different in their government make up?. What are true communistic goals?

My kid is not on reduced lunches, even though the school wanted me to place him on reduced lunches.
I guess the schools get more money some how with more kids on reduced or free lunches.

I wasn't raised that way. Even though I was raised in a large (10 kids) family that included a grandmother living with us, we were happy.
No welfare. Everyone chipped in, one way or another.

What are true communistic goals?

Ultimately, the destruction of the perceived inequalities of capitalism and the distribution of all wealth equally among all the workers by the creation of a classless & moneyless state where private ownership of property is abolished in favor of collective ownership.  Communism is, in fact, the ultimate outcome of the socialist movement.  Socialism being only an interim step.  Of course, we can't ignore the demonstrated outcomes of this movement:  Fascism, Oligarchy, etc., all being tyrannical and in direct opposition to the principles espoused by the founders of our country.  But, would you be looking for the views of the Bolsheviks or those of the Mensheviks? 

It looks like Red may be on mark.  Many of your rants clearly demonstrate an affinity for one or more of the collective goals of socialists on their move toward the utopian state of communism.
