What Love Means

What is love?

What is love
This word we often hear?
Has its meaning been diluted,
Made cryptic and unclear?

Is love a feeling,
A warmth in the heart?
Is it a spark from which
A romance does start?



Or is love much more,
Does it transcend all these?
Is it sublime and sacred,
Bringing us to our knees?

Sublime, spiritual, sacred
Yes, love is all three
For God Himself is love
Love is the Trinity



Love is patient and kind
Selfless and humble too
Love pours of one's self
And aligns with all True

Look at Christ closely
And know love complete
He accepted the Cross
Pierced hands and feet



Love is giving one's all
Pouring of self for another
Great must our love be
For our Father, sister, brother

Yet to give of one's self
Does not empty the soul
For God fills those who love
With His love perfect and whole



Rejoice then, dear Christian
Praise your Father Above
Feelings are fleeting
But perfect and eternal is love

When all passes away
When this earth is no more
Faith, hope and love remain
And love the greatest to endure



Dear Father, fill our hearts
Make them with love overflow
Let us share this love with all
That You all may know

And love You more deeply
I will each passing day
To be more like Christ
This I earnestly pray



May I see and know love
May love I show and live
May love be my fragrance
The sweet aroma I give

And I will express love
This word we often hear
I will proclaim Truth
That love is evident and clear

Lord, How Can It Be?

How can it be
That You, my Lord, love me?
You are my God, my Creator,
My King eternally.

How can it be
You bless me from Your throne?
How can it be
That for my life You did atone?

How can it be
That You care about my days?
How can it be, Lord,
That You love me always?

Earth is Your footstool,
Yet Your blessings You send;
You are my Redeemer,
My Brother, my Friend.

How can it be, Lord,
That for me You so care?
No matter what I encounter,
You, my Jesus, are there.

Sweeter than dreams,
Lovelier than fantasies of mind,
Is Your unfathomable love
For each one of mankind.

Like incense may my prayers
Rise before Your throne;
Lord, how I love You,
I give all I am, all I own.

I rejoice in Your love,
I marvel how it can be,
So I shall adore You always,
Yes, for all eternity.

Purposeful Pathway

And we have known and believed
the love that God hath to us.
God is love; and he that dwelleth
in love dwelleth in God,
and God in him.

From dust I came,
To dust I will return,
Yet in my heart, Jesus,
Your fire does burn.

For without You, Lord,
Nothing would I be;
Yet in turning to You
I find eternity.



So take my hand,
Lead me on Your way,
Show me Your will
Unfolding each day.

This Lenten journey
I commit to You;
Show me how to live,
Teach me what to do.



Ashes to ashes,
This I know is my fate,
Yet a new birth You give,
A new life You create.

So with You I travel,
To Your hand I cling,
Marveling upon this journey
The miracles You bring.



Wondrous are the blessings
You bestow upon me;
In Your eyes, my Jesus,
I see sweet eternity.

On this Lenten journey,
So much will I learn,
And forever in my heart
Your fire does burn.

The Great Master Painter


As I looked into the sky above,
I saw the pretty colors of God's love:
The sky was so bright, clouds so clear,
I felt in my heart that God was near.
God splashed pretty colors all around
To remind me that this is God!
He is the creation of earth and sky,
He is watching from His home on high.



The beauty is beyond compare
In the rising of the sun and sunset,
As we view the mountains and the sea
We know God created it for you and me.
The Master only ask that we love Him
Oh that we would accept His love and grace,
Knowing that at the end a home awaits,
We will enjoy the mountains, hills and lakes.



Yes, looking into the sky gives a warm feeling
Sometimes we feel, God is so close:
The Master Painter moves throughout the land,
He softly whispers as He reaches down His hand.
God is sitting on His majestic throne
His eyes is forever watching don't feel alone:
He created the heavens, the earth, and sky,
We'll talk things over in the by and by.



His love is always the same
He is my dearest and best friend,
I will love and praise Him forever,
He will never, never leave me, no never!

GOD'S CREATION

I view the vastness of the mountain's
The distance of the sky
Deepness of the ocean
The valley where green grass lie.

God, Master of the Universe
His creation a gift of love
Bestowed on us this work of art
From His throne in Heaven above.



The blessings that He gave us
We should thank Him every day
Live our life in His shadow
Let Him guide our way.

Excuses not accepted
Give your life to Him, be glad
For He will open His arms to you
Never more will you be sad.



He loves all of His children
No matter color or creed
Rejoice with joy and thanksgiving
He'll take care of your every need.

Praise the Lord who lives on high
Your broken heart he'll mend
His love and His blessings
To you He will send.

JOURNEY WITH JESUS

Unfolding before me,
A path narrow and straight,
Heading to a horizon,
Sunshine to celebrate,

Such is my journey,
Such are my travels with You,
Such is my pathway
Purposeful and true.

Jesus, my Guide,
Hold my hand ever tight,
Lead me on Your way,
Shine upon me with light.

My heart I feel beat
For You ever strong,
My spirit I hear sing,
With You I belong.

My eyes I feel aglow
With Your joy and love,
My sight is ever fixed
On Your throne above.

So upon this pathway
I walk with joy and peace,
I hold You close to me,
All else I release.

So I rejoice in my journey,

The source of my song,

The source from which
All life does begin:



Such is Your love,

Jesus, Your love
Our imagination exceeds;
It graces us with joy,

Basking in Your light,

Which shines day and night,

Happy I am to be with You,

In this union divine,



Yes, Jesus, my Lord,
Blessed I am by You;
You are sweeter than all
Sweetest dreams come true.

In Your arms is comfort,
In Yours eyes is pure love,
In Your words is truth
Leading to Heaven above.



My life I live for You,
Grateful I am You are mine,
Everything I see is brilliant
In Your sweet Sonshine.
