Norma Jean Wade, age 84, died December 12, 2011 at Riverview Manor in Oxford, Kansas.  She was born June 2, 1927 in the family home located in Grand Summit, Kansas to Henry and Delilah (Woods) Ballin.

Raised and educated in the Cambridge, Kansas area, she graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945.  On October 28, 1946, Norma was united in marriage to Robert Dee Wade who preceded her in death in 2009.  To this union were born three children.
Norma worked as a secretary for J.W. Powers Insurance before returning to school to earn her elementary education degree.  A graduate of Cowley County Junior College in Arkansas City, Kansas and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where she was selected for The Order of the Mound, Norma was excited to begin her teaching career.  As an upper elementary teacher, she taught in both the Moline and Winfield school districts.  Upon retirement, she continued to enjoy her hobbies of sewing, quilting, traveling, and working for the Lord.  Both her natural and church families were very important to her.  Norma was a member of the Winfield First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Henry and Delilah Ballin; and her brother, Henry Ballin Jr.  Norma is survived by two daughters, Karen (Dale) Morrell of Maize, Kansas and Marilyn (Steve) Jones of El Dorado, Kansas; a son, Henry of Cambridge, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Daylene Morrell, Bryan Morrell, Sharon Leister, Brodie Jones, Shane Wade, Jason Keith,  and Levi Wade; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alvin Ballin of Cambridge, Kansas.  A host of family and friends are among those honoring her memory.
