If we through cowardice, ignorance and apathy continue to allow this Democratic Socialist Party and President Obama to steal our freedoms and liberties through Obamacare by using the Commerce Clause as a cudgel to scare away gutless RINO Republicans and a cage to imprison more of our natural rights and unalienable liberties in the dungeon of liberal fascism and inside concentration camps of government tyranny, then we Americans must like being raped, for surely we have traded our Founding Fathers' dream of freedom for all humanity in exchange for the nightmare of European-style socialism (e.g., communism), the death of Christianity and the apotheosis of liberal fascism.

Why are you upset at my proposal.  You really think your vote counts?  Think again.  First of all, the constitution does not guarantee you a vote in anything but local elections.  Sorry but the national vote counting is a myth.

You do not vote for president period. Thats not possible.   The only ones you vote for are senators who are local level votes, since they are sent up as representatives from each state. Same thing with house representatives. Now  voting for senators was usurped long ago. We should not vote for senators they should be appointed.   That would stop this crap of what we got up there now.   Its time to take powers away from the government not give them broader powers.
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Steve, nothing you say upsets me, but some does surprise me. I do get wonderment from people who always have the negative on their top shelf and can't find anything positive to say in their lives. They always wanna get something on somebody even if they look really ignorant in the process, especially the ones for whom internal armed revolt pleases them best. They wouldn't know what to do with it if they got it!
Appoint the senators? Gee that sounds familiar. Who would you like to do that? Appointed positions work so well, don't they?Talk about the potential for graft and paid for influence! If people who are elected are crooks where does that leave appointees?

Not quite, but close.  Of course the reasoning behind what follows was lost in the socialist progressive era of the early 1900s when this was modified by amendment thereby effectively eliminating fair representation of the various states in the union and crushing an important check and balance.  Was it lost on you too?

Constitution for the United States of America.

Article. I.     Section. 3.

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

No you weren't.  But what excuse do you have for not knowing or understanding the history?

A tad more knowledge and Dinky Delaware might grow up to a full sized state.  LOL

You know that low rumbling you hear when visiting an old cemetery?  That's the sound of folks from the 17 & 18 hundreds spinning in their graves.

I'm not sure why you think I don't know history since I've read a lot of it by the original authors ,some in their own hand. But I won't rise to your bait.
You go way back we were part of PA and there was very little difference between the two. In fact my parents graves are very near the sons of Rev Allison. I assume since you consider yourself so knowledgeable you know all about that family, and the other "real" founding fathers who were right here and whose original papers are easily accessible to see.
As far as the slow but constant changes, they were inevitable. I'm not personally as interested in the politics and antics of the later years, but Al, (PhD) is very knowledgeable about the people, dates and happenings. He can rattle off the dates and causes and effects of the previous recessions, stagflations, depressions etc. back many, many years.  He consumes general history, political, and Gov't history books like candy and has read hundreds. I'd love to turn him loose on a few of you, but he doesn't care to play with mean spirited, rude, self absorbed people who don't know how to debate and just want to take verbal prisoners or try to make people look foolish. In other words, just one half of a conversation ;D He is 'way above that kind of thing.
Try having Polio. You'll learn what really has importance.
His family many many years ago actually lived in countries that were true Fascist, Communist, Marxist and all those "ists'' you throw around so casually.  Thank goodness they were able to get out. You have no idea how good you all have it, even at your financial lowest.  >:(

I bet you never back up and buy cars without a reverse gear, too.

Your lack of serious interest is made manifest on a regular basis.  As for Piled higher & Deeper (PhD)?  Neither that nor BullSh*t (BS), nor Moresh*t (MS) demonstrate one iota of wisdom or udnerstanding.  Be honest now... did Al compose most of that paragraph for you?

What does that have to do with Liberal Fascism or the Commerce Clause?  Try having a stroke.  That's irrelevant too.  Can the real Di come out and play now?

So did mine.  The point?

And you, dear Darwinian Delawarian, have no idea of what you have to lose... or, methinks, the ability to see it being lost.

Al has as been out blowing leaves so he hasn't been around to see and appreciate your insults.
As far as my "essay," that is why I don't usually bother. The reader has to have enough sense to understand my point of view. When insults are all you have to offer I don't play, period. Take it to the playground so the right age group can appreciate it  What a waste. As far as a stroke, I  already had one little one, don't want another.
I know I disgust you and frankly, I don't care. I think for myself and make choices on what I decide after reading or listening to lot of points of view. Your always negative version of politics is just one small piece of the reality of what's going on from day to day. Too bad, your loss.
