Mable Florence Hoover died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at the Greenwood County hospital in Eureka.  She was 91 years of age and a resident of Howard.  Mable was born on June 16, 1915 at Elk Falls to Ed and Lulu Blanche (Crismas) Burres.  She attended grade and high school at Moline and lived her early years in the Elk Falls and Moline area.

On April 3, 1945 she married Clarence Marion Hoover at Omaha, Neb.  They lived in Iowa for a few years before moving to Gary, Ind. in 1950.  In 1964, Mable and Clarence moved to California where she was employed as a retail sales clerk.  She was preceded in death by her husband on May 5, 1967.  Mable returned to Kansas in 1972 where she made her home at Howard and owned a restaurant for several years.

She is survived by her sister, DeEtta Lee of Howard; her nephews, Jim Smith of Eureka and lewis Beaumont of Gardner; her nieces, Sandy Dunbar of Howard, Carolyn Ratzlaff of Sonoma, Calif. and Teresia Wussow of Haysville and several great and great-great neices and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother James Burres and her sister Lois Dunbar.

Graveside services were held on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard with Pastor Robin Haines of the Flint Hills Assembly of God officiating.  A memorial has been established with the Howard Senior Center.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home.  The funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.

HOWARD - Mable Florence Hoover, 91, of Howard, died Tuesday at Greenwood County hospital in Eureka.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Lawn Cemetery at Howard with Pastor Robin Haines of the Flint Hills Assembly of God Church officiating.

Friends may call at Zimmerman Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Howard Senior Center and they may be left with the fuenral home.

Mrs. Hoover was born on June 16, 1915 at Elk Falls to Ed and Blanche (Crismas)Burres.  She attended high school at Moline.
