Mary Darlene Meisch, age 76, a resident of Iola, Kansas and formerly of Howard, Kansas passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Windsor Place of Iola. She was born on June 18, 1935 in Piedmont, Kansas, the daughter of Wesley I. and Mildred E. (Misner) Norman. Darlene graduate from Piedmont High School in 1953.

On December 31, 1955 Darlene was united in marriage to Otto E. Meisch at the Piedmont Christian Church. Darlene was a homemaker and she was the bookkeeper for the family dirt construction business. She also worked in home health and for the Howard Senior Center. Darlene was a long time member of the Howard Christian Church and later a member of the Piedmont Christian Church, Mother's Club and the Legion Auxiliary.

Darlene is survived by one daughter Pamela Coons and her husband Vincent of Iola, Kansas, two sons; Otto E. Meisch Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Wichita, Kansas and Bruce Meisch and his wife Julie of Wichita, Kansas, one brother Larry Norman of Howard, Kansas, one sister Donna Meisch Johnston of Howard, Kansas, seven grandchildren; Meaghan Coons, Mason Coons, Leah Meisch, Kyle Meisch, Luke Meisch, Audrey Meisch and Hayley Meisch. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Otto Meisch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Countryside - Zimmerman Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Dougherty officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas. Family suggests contributions to the Howard Senior Center and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.
