Married at the M. E. Church, Howard, Kansas, Sunday, June 19, 1932, Mr. Martin W. Haigler and Miss Shirley L. Rutherford, both of Howard.  Rev. W. C. Chappell, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating.  The only witness to the interesting event, beside the happy pair and the minister was Miss Pauline Fralick, the bride's chum and dearest girl friend.

The bride is a daughter of Mrs. A. V. Rutherford of west of town, is a native of this community, attended the Howard schools and graduated from Howard High with the Class of '29.  She was prominent in the student events and a member of the high school chorus and the prize winning girls glee club.  She is a graduate of the Wichita business college and is one of Howard's prettiest and most popular young women.

The groom is a native of Grenola, a graduate of Grenola high school, class of '28 and has for the past three years been expert baker in the Howard Bakery.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Haigler are member of the Howard M. E. church and Sunday school, and this entire community joins The Courant in wishing them a long, happy and useful married life.

They will very soon be at home to their friends on Pennsylvania Avenue southeast of the high school building.
