William  A. "Bill"  Marrs Jr. 75, died Thursday, Oct 26, 2006 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin after an illness.

Bill was born August 12, 1931 in Elk Falls, the son of William A. Marrs Sr. and Blanche Weese Marrs.  He graduated from Moline High School in 1949 and attended El Dorado Junior College.  He retired from the former BF Goodrich plant in Miami, Okla. in 1986 and raised cattle, Paint and Quarter Horses.  Bill was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.  Bill was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, American Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and was a Newton County 4-H leader for 20 years.

Bill married Faye Vanderhoof December 2, 1955 in Moline and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Nancy Howard and husband Brad, Seneca and Becky Donica and husband Jeff, Joplin; one brother Tom Marrs and wife Bonita, Seneca; two granddaughters Keri and Kristi Howard; Nephew Roger Marrs and wife Leslie; Niece, Jennifer Marrs, Seneca; two great nephews Lucas and Jackson Marrs.

Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca were held Tuesday, October 31, at the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Mills officiating.  Pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Bill Parmley, Morris Golden, Clay Wilson, Roger Marrs, Brad Howard, Jeff Donica and Cody Bennett.  Honorary Pallbearars will be George Fritchey, Floyd Ball, Cotton Bettis, Tom Kuhn and Don Wilson.
