Robert Leon "Bob" Eastman, 71, of Coffeyville, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2011 after suffering a sudden heart attack.  Bob was born June 6, 1939 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of the late William and Leah (Wells) Eastman.

He had six siblings.  On December 28, 1963, he married Darline Terrell, and they had two daughters, Jillinda Jean and Helen Margaret.  They divorced after 32 years of marriage.  On November 1, 1996, Bob married Donna Jean Burton of Independence, Kansas.  

Mr. Eastman graduated valedictorian from Grenola High School in Grenola, Kansas in 1957.  He then graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963.  He served as a Naval Officer for 5 years as pilot and flight instructor in the U.S., Japan, Philippines, and served three tours of duty in Vietnam.  Following his honorable discharge in 1971, he attended the University of Kansas, receiving a Jurisdoctrate Degree and began practicing law as a partner with Becker, Hildreth, Levy & Lively in Coffeyville, Kansas.  In the late 80s, he started his private law practice, and in 2000, Bob expanded the law practice and established Coffeyville Title & Abstract Company to serve the real estate needs of Coffeyville and the surrounding area.

He was an active member, Jr. Warden, and choir member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, Kansas.  Mr. Eastman's professional memberships and certifications included Kansas Bar Association, Kansas Land Title Association, Coffeyville Rotary Club, and Genesis, Inc.

Mr. Eastman is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Eastman of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Mike Ewing of Spring Hill, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Mark Angermayer of Stilwell, Kansas; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Grace and Rick Stephens of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Drew and Brenna Ewing of Spring Hill, Kansas and Megan and Gabriel Angermayer of Stilwell, Kansas; step-grandchildren, Megan Caulkins of Wichita, Kansas and Michael Stephens of Independence, Kansas; siblings, Bill Eastman of Wichita, Kansas, Ann Vaughan of Wichita, Kansas, Mick Eastman of Sacramento, California, Dick Eastman of Grenola, Kansas, and Jim Eastman of Augusta, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister, Jeanette.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 613 Elm Street, Coffeyville, Kansas with the very Reverend Jerry Adinolfi officiating.  Interment will be in Independence, Kansas at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.  Donations can be made to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church and may be left with the funeral home.  To leave a special message for the family online, visit www.penwellgabelcoffeyville.com.
