Roland L. Russell, 73, of Munford, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  Mr Russell was born in Oak Valley, Kansas to Harry and Eva Russell.

He graduated from Longton High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Iowa and the USS Ranger.  He later worked for and retired from Yellow Freight as a safety supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn;  daughter, Rolinda Tomlinson of Elk Falls, Kansas; sons, Perry Russell of Peru, William Russell of Dallas, Texas, and Scott Russell of Rosemark, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in the Fellowship Hall at Munford Presbyterian Church, Munford, Tennessee, on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.  Arrangements were made by Munford Funeral Home, 7450 Raleigh-Millington Road, Millington, Tennessee.
