Hence, we know why many southerners refer to the conflict as The War of Northern Aggression against the South.  Makes one consider how much other twisted history is being taught in our 'government' schools.

The yankees have rewritten the truth to fit their war of agression.  They could not continue that war without a cause so lincoln gave them slavery as a cause.  The truth is there were many many black regiments fighting for the south.  One such regiment was the one that Nathan Bedford Forrest led.  It was a black regiment made up of volenteer slaves. They were promised freedom to fight for the south and they did fiercely.   They could have ran but they never did. they stood their ground and died for the south.
