oh, okay...so calling people "a**holes" and ignorant is avoiding insults and sticking to the issues?
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

Respect? Ha!!! I was told that I should be beaten for having a different political view. Some respect. A certain few have chased a number of  good people off of here who are too polite to play in the mire. All they want to ever post to are people who think just like they do. Why so narrow minded? As soon as someone says something "different," the conversation becomes coarse and crude. To hell with truth or accuracy or just additional information.  Why bother? Why not just get out the rope and show the true colors? Even Christine O. managed to embarrass our whole state and show how dumb she really is. She is clueless about the US Constitution and defended herself by saying that at least Senators don't have to memorize it. And I had held out some hope for her because I agreed with some of what she had to say. Not now! If she represents the intelligence level of most Repubs, we'll be in worse trouble if "they" take over...they won't know what to do with it in all their little "newbie" closets in Washington. They, and she, will simply be used as pawns by the heavy duty politicos. What a disappointment. Maybe they can continue to rewrite history...and follow a few power hungry political "entertainers" into hell. Talk about sheep!
Yes, I am pissed. I didn't deserve that recent slam, totally uncalled for. I have now lost all respect for that man and will have no further interest in anything he has to say because it will be so obviously wrong.
This country's business woes started long before Bill Clinton was born. It's a shame that some won't see what's right in front of them in the many economic histories that have been written...by historians, not politicians. About the robber barons and the real moneyed people of the past and why highways sudden over took and ran the rail roads out and who profited from it.  But that's alright, today's versions depend on shallow people who swallow every word and fall for the "bread and circuses''. They will put us right back where we were before, but without the interest levels that people used to be able to retire on from investing their savings. Right back to Countryside and Enron and tidal waves of big business money coming in without limits, to bribe and lobby their way in to whatever a few top people want. They will keep right on protecting each other and securing for themselves ridiculous salaries and perks while you folks will politically keep taking in each other's laundry to survive. Less Gov't ? Sure. Lower taxes? You bet! Who would ever be against that? But be careful. The woods has wolves who will take advantage of you in an instant. If a certain C.O. has her way....What Constitution? I'll take my disgust now and go somewhere else with it.YUK!

Now Diane, Christine has her worth; she has given me several good laughs in the past few weeks!  ;D ;D ;D

Diane,
Not sure why you think C.O. is such an idiot for questioning Coons on where in the 1st amendment  it says "separation of church and state". I tried to find where it said that in the 1st ammendment and I just can't find it. Maybe you could enlighten both me and C.O.-------or maybe CO knows the Constitution better than that Marxist,Coons!! :)

Jar, you know as well as I do that's it's the meaning of the two clauses, (you do know there are two, right?) They keep the Gov't from interfering with religion. "The government shall neither establish a religion nor interfere with the practice of religion."  ''Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise there of."
These absolutely do create the separation of church and state. CO should have known that. They didn't want another Henry the VIII situation. Unfortunately Madeline Murray O'hair really messed things up and called the amendment into question. By the way...why do you so easily believe Chris Coons is a Marxist? Where is your first hand proof and I don't mean something you read that someone wrote in jest. What "Marxist" type actions has he taken during his tenure as OUR County Executive?

Government violates the lst portion of the first and second clause constantly.  They prohibit and interfere with the practice and free exercise of it all the time.

Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Actually the statement was that he was being an a**hole towards Anmar and I was tired of the tone, excuse me.  That was my point is that I will stick up for people, tough if you don't like it.  As I said, though, perhaps we can try and discuss the issues.

Steve, we weren't discussing the merits of the amendments or who does what to who or why. I was just disappointed as to CO's ignorance of the first amendment, especially at a debate in front of a bunch of law students at Widner law School. She stated, and I quote,"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" and later,"You're going to tell me that's in the first amendment?" She didn't ask where are the words "separation of church and state," She asked exactly what I quoted above, to the gasps and giggles of the audience. She really hurt herself. She had been trying to get something going on creationism VS evolution in public schools. Since creationism is religious in nature it can't be "taught"as a fact in public school, just as an idea or concept. Evolution has basis in science so it can be explored deeper, but still  it can be said that the two ideas disagree.

Sly like a fox you are, Diane, with a question like that. Seeing as how the Libs are screaming their heads off about CO saying stupid things about witches and such, many moons ago, but give Coons a free ride on what he wrote for his college paper, way back when. What was the title ?? oh yea,"The Making of a Bearded Marxist"-and this was after he made a trip to Kenya and became disenfranchised with America.
I think CO did extremely well in their debate considering the deck was stacked against her---Wolf Blitzer as moderator---a liberal audience of half wits that feel superior to most if not all other people---and Coons standing there making snide remarks and giving political answers (half truths if not outright lies )
I really liked it when he was asked if his family would profit if cap & trade was passed. He danced around that question like he was on DWTS before he finally said "yes ".

Jar, I don't need to be sly. I'm not running for anything. He is a seasoned politician and she wants to take him on, but doesn't know squat about the state she wants to represent. She doesn't even know the size of Delaware. As I said once before, I had hopes for her, but so far she hasn't come up with what I want to hear, and that's HOW she wants to implement the changes she talks about. I don't care what either of them did in high school or college. I want to know about now and tomorrow. And if she isn't ready to take her lumps with the big boys, she should practice in some little local office first.
She plays a little too easy with other people's money and has been caught in a number of lies.  This "I'm you" nonsense doesn't cut it with me. Nobody has ever sued me for anything let alone for tuition, mortgage and other bills. I've never tried to pretend my home is my campaign office and take all my living expenses off my taxes. But I guess that should make her a good politician some day. As far as those half wits, as you call them, they are the people who pay the taxes in this state and have a vested interest in what goes on here and who represents them in Washington. Now ask how much she paid in taxes last year. I knew some of the people in the audience and they sure weren't all liberal Democrats. Maybe that does make them superior. They are involved, not just sitting on the side lines taking cheap shots.
I'm not sure why Wolfe Blitzer was there. Nancy Karabjanian didn't need him. I'm also not sure why you watched. What do you care?
I find it very interesting how interested you are in little Delaware's politics. How about your own? I've never made any comments ever about the politicians of Kansas, Oklahoma or Texas, do you know anything about them or is the game to just stick it to me no matter what?
