Today was a lovely day in December.  The sky was blue, the wind almost nonexistent.  I just looked out to check the sunset and saw the loveliest blue and pink glow in the west.  There were just enough clouds to reflect the sun's last rays.  Wish my little camera would capture the colors of the sunsets in Kansas.

Wilma

Not quite in Elk County.

Janet Harrington

Oh my gosh, Mother. That is beautiful. Did you make a trip that I didn't know about?

Wilma

Yes, we did.  Right soon after you left yesterday.

Is the water that blue in the summer.  That is a wonderful picture.

One of the things I so love when I am in Kansas is the beautiful blue sky, but the water in that picture is just perfect.

Wilma

The sky and the water were that blue yesterday.  The angle of the sun just happened to be right.  I will never get a shot like that one again.  Yes, our sky can be that blue in summer but I think the colder temperatures make it more brilliant.

Janet Harrington

Ms. Bear, the color of water is a reflection of the color of the sky. If the sky happened to be cloud covered, the water would be cloud covered. Since the sky was so blue that day, the water served as a mirror for God.

Ms Bear

That is a beautiful explanation, Janet.  Thank you.
