Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one

morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.

'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

'H-M-M,' she said, 'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.

'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going to wear my hair in a

pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror

and
noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her

head.
'YAY!' she exclaimed. 'I don't have to fix my hair

today!'

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of

battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly,

and pray continually.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter

that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Judy, that's exactly how my mother feels about her $200,000 hairdo from chemo that she has right now! When it rained the other day and the drops hit her head, she said it felt soooo good! A lot of that feeling good is probably just the fact that she is still here, still battling her stage IV cancer! Thanks Judy for making me smile!

Jennifer, I too had radiation and chemo for cancer. But, Praise the Lord, I am cancer free and have been since 2003.
I didn't lose my hair, I did lose my salava glands, my taste buds and my vocal cords got fried..LOL sorry for the rough speak, but you will find that cancer patients do talk like this.

It is a whole different life. I pray that she can get a good outcome like I did. (Oh, my hair did get real fine, my finger nails are brittle like a baby's and I don't have the singing voice I use to have.) I can make a joyful noise to the Lord, and sometimes keep up with the music....like I said it is a whole new life.

Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Unfortunately, this isn't her first go round with this disease. She had breast cancer in 1998 and had been cancer free til January of this year. She has a wonderful outlook on life and swears this disease isn't gonna get her! I love my mama like no one would believe and maybe a lot of my grumpiness this year could be attributed to the fact that I've been so stressed out with everything going on with her AND myself. I have decided to try to turn the other cheek from now on and be a good girl starting tomorrow when I turn 36 and see if my happiness can return!  ;)

I have found when my back is to the wall and life is on my last nerve, that when I turn it all over to Jesus things seem to smooth out so nice. It makes me squirrely when I get that blue/black and just wanting to shake the stuffing out of anyone who says
"BOO" and I even get where I can't stand me....yep. But, Let Go and Let God may sound like a wishy washy out, but by gum,
it works. Not sure of your religious nature, but if it will help, go in and read the devotions that I post each day.
No they are not my words. When I post my thoughts they go around the world and getting back to the beginning is just too too
(I can't find the words I want to say) So I have the devotions emailed to me and I share them with my friends and forum people. and when I feel it is appropreate to the cause will email my family and friends..
Ok, rambling here. One day at a time. Take it minute by minute if you must. But, you will get through this.
God bless you and your mother.
Today, I want to make a difference.
