Emily Jo Fulmer, age 71, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia.  She was born June 15, 1939 in Bristow, Oklahoma.  Emily is the daughter of Lee Roy and Lora Bell (McPherson) Chapman.

In 1952, Emily married James Fulmer,  They had six children, and James passed away in 1961.  Emily worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant.  She was a member of the Eagles and the Ladies Auxiliary.  In her spare time, Emily enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Emily is survived by her son, James A. Fulmer of Longton, Kansas; daughters, Debra Jo Watson of Springfield, Missouri, Marilyn Kay Grimsely of Boise, Louisiana, Lois Hogan of Longton, Kansas, and Virginia Brown of Longton, Kansas; brothers, Charles R. Fulmer, Randy Fulmer and Ronny Dale Fulmer of Arkansas; sisters, Becky Decker of Missouri, Donna Menure of Arizona, Betty Mae Fulmer of Arkansas, Mary Alice Fulmer of Arkansas, and Melissa Fulmer of Arkansas; 18 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.  Emily was preceded in death by one son, John Wayne Fulmer, and a great-grandson, Kenneth James North.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.  Pastor Jeremiah Baird will be the officiant.  Burial will follow at the Longton Cemetery in Longton, Kansas.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home.
