I am a little slow, but thought I'd remind you all that use Howard water, the city is flushing out the fire hydrants tomorrow (Thursday). If you have good clothes in the laundry, you may want to take care of it today because water will probably be a little cloudy for a couple days afterward.

I don't intend to use this post to complain about water quality folks, just to remind you to take care of what you can today to save some stress tomorrow. HA!

Oh, great - just what we need . . . more water on our streets!

I'll be happy to take your leftover hydrant water. It's been very hot here 102, and very dry. A record breaker again today. I know, I know it's hotter than that in Kansas, but it's not normal for us to have it so hot for so long without a break.

Diane, we are still getting the effects from hurricane Alex, many inches of rain on Sunday night, and more on Monday. As a result the weather is cloudy with temps in the 80's. A nice break from the heat and humidity of last month. Skeeters are getting thick though.

Don't drown out but enjoy your cool down and then send it our way. As early as the hurricanes are starting we are worried we might see one come up the east coast earlier than usual.

Ms Bear

Alex has moved on but we are getting more rain, just when I thought my yard would be dry enough to mow.  We have had at 2 inches today and it is hot and humid but nothing compared to what you are getting Diane.  Can't imagine that heat without a/c, I grew up in Arizona and it was hot but no humidity and always breeze or wind.  Sometimes to much wind.

My yard won't be dry enough to mow for quite some time, but if I could get hold of one of those flat bottom boats with the huge fans on behind, I could probably water ski there!

Diane Amberg

Ha! Ms Bear, didn't you and I have exactly the same conversation last winter except we were talking about the snow? The east coast is certainly having extremes.

Joanna -

Come on over and get our inflatable - we had a big beautiful blue and yellow beach ball end up in our yard.  :D

Do you all really have enough water to run an air boat? Wow!
