Roma Jean Turner

     Died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene Hawkins, in Elk County, Kansas, on the 4th day of June, 1895 at 4:30p.m., G. T. Turner.
    G. T. Turner was born in Berkley County, Virginia, on the 12th day of May, 1817, and at the time of his death was a little more than 78 years of age.  He was married to Margaret Hedges who survives him, in Morgan County, Ohio, on the 7th day of September, 1843.  Three children survive:  Joseph Turner of Moline, Kansas, Mrs. Maggie Michael of Selma, Iowa, and Mrs. Eugene Hawkins of Elk County, with whom the deceased resided at the time of his death.  Mr. Turner was a member of the M.E. Church for about 55 years and died in that faith, frequently expressing during his last sickness abiding faith in the resurrection through the atonement.  The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church in Howard, Kansas by the pastor H. G. White on the 5th of June, and interment at the cemetery under the auspices of the I.O.O.F. of which deceased had been a member.
