Howard Courant
January 1, 1925

On Christmas Day, 1860, away up in Canada, our good friend Joe Myrick took unto himself a bride.  On Christmas Day, 1924, at the home of one of his daughters at Moline, Mr. and Mrs. Myrick were given a Christmas dinner, which they greatly enjoyed.  Mr. Myrick is in quite good health, considering his advanced age, but Mrs. M. has for many months been quite frail and weak.  But she was able to be up and dressed for the Christmas dinner, and sat at the table and enjoyed the anniversary occasion.  Mr. Loraine Hefner of Howard, who is one of the granddaughters, was at the Christmas dinner, accompanied by her husband.  The Myricks lived in Howard for many years, but some time ago went to Moline to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. O.S. Spease.
