Here is what I think is astonishing numbers regarding the "Replies" and "Views" in the "Word Games" category on the Forum:
Replies 32,489 and views 289,890, closing in on a 1/3 of a million views, I had no ideas the numbers ran this high. Think of the fun this has provided to a lot of people, another THANK YOU to TERESA and KJELL. Alice, I notice when I get on the forum early in the mornings, a lot of the time you are the last one to go off in the night, it has to be good to keep the brain active as  one grows older.

Word games are fun.  We don't take ourselves too seriously but does keep the mind busy.  Same as card games.  I remember my Dad playing cards with all the guys at the card parlor.  It was a very special time when I could go with him and watch. Had to be quiet and behave but learned how to play poker and dominoes watching them.  I could out do my older brothers in the games a home.  Mother enjoyed playing cards

I do my paper work at night when the phones are not ringing and is quiet. I keep odd hours sleeping and awake.  Alway keep the forum  and the TV on to keep me company while working.  (May be a little ADHD) :D ;D

There are times I am the first one on in the morning and the last one on at night.

Frank, are you trying to tell me I am getting old?      Barbara Clubine mentioned  Dale and her were playing cards at the senior center and having a great time.  My first thought was, "I could be there doing that if I lived there.  I am a senior citizen now."  Now I do enjoy my grandchildren and great grandchildren and I do go by "Ole Granny".....So.............sometimes the realization finally hits home. ;D ;D ;D

But rather openings where our loved ones,
Shine down to let us know they are happy."

Alice, you are still young sweet, smiling Alice to me.
This brings back some memories of the conversations I had as a young boy with your dad, he gave me lots of good Philiosophy.
HAVE A GREAT DAY and keep on keeping on being Alice

I so enjoy doing the word games and find that it makes my old, decrepit mind work hard to be creative and correct.  A dictionary sits right beside my computer to check out correct spellings or definitions, so although some may think it is a waste of time, we are continuing to learn all the time.  One of our categories with the "-ly" endings allows the participants to be a "little off the wall" in devising new, sometimes questionable, words to fit the category that probably keep our former English teachers rolling in their graves,  but it's all in fun and I look forward to checking this part of the Forum daily.

KI, I don't find it a waste of time, I check the posts sometimes and find it really interesting what you all come up with sometime. I also find it interesting how long you have kept some of it going. It appears that it is fun, thought provoking, educational and friendly, alot better than the nasty old politics that some of us were involved in posting. Maybe all of you should make and publish reference books on the subject and postings.

Most of the games were inspired by the original word association, just carried a little further. I enjoy them all and feel that I know everybody and how they will respond. I am quite often fooled, most of the time in fact. Sometimes I get stumped, I am going to have to start keeping a dictionary by my computer instead of a tomcat and several assorted dogs. LOL! And I find the 'ly' especially fun since there is just the one rule.  ;D ;D
