One of my BEST and definitely the longest friend and I ( red faced as can be ) did not wish you a WONDERFUL BLESSED BIRTHDAY on THE DAY.  Sorry, my dear -- but you know me, I like to cover my tracks -- and will say ( to my own credit, of course) Saved the best for the last.
  We have thought about you and yours a lot with all of the fires that are forever tormenting your state. 
Did Bob fix you a yummy birthday dinner?  I hope it was one of the greatest days ever and that you will have a whole bunch more.

Thank you, Jo!  I've been thinking about you and Fred, also, wondering how he is doing?  I hope he's doing "just swell!"

Bob did fix a good birthday meal, as a matter of fact!  It was all very nice.

The fires seem to have died down, and we have so much sympathy for all of those people who lost their homes.
