Undine (Joyce) Cunningham, 98, a former resident of Moline, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Yuma, Arizona.  Undine was born on May 13, 1910 in Hewins, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel Alexander and Delsie (Miller) Joyce.

Undine ws a graduate of Cedar Vale High School.  She attended Pittsburg State University.  She taught school several years in Elk County, riding a horse to school daily, until her marriage to Logan Cunningham in December 1933 at Elk Falls, Kansas.  They were married for 39 years until his death in 1972. 

Undine and Logan had three children.  She was a homemaker until her children were raised.  She then worked for the State Hospital in Winfield, Kansas as a Psychiatric Technician for 12 years until her retirement at the age of 65.  Undine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moline, Kansas.  She volunteered for Friendship Meals for 21 years.

Undine is survived by one son, Larry Cunningham of San Bernadino, California; one daughter, Joyce Williams of Yuma, Arizona; nephews, Steven and Jan Joyce of Wichita, Kansas and Gary Pegrum of Tacoma, Washington; nieces, Connie and Mike Hudson of Neodesha, Kansas and Joyce Irene Bettingfield of Tacoma, Washington; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jerry Cunningham; three brothers, Earl, Alfred, and Jack Joyce; and two sisters, Myrtle Pegrum and Gertrude Smith.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Elk Falls Cemetery, Elk Falls, Kansas, with Pastor Tim Adams officiating.  Visitation will be held Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.

Ellie Cunningham was Undine's daughter-in-law...she took wonderful care of Undine for a very long time.  Sure hope Ellie is doing OK.  I know she's sad over this.
