At this very moment I know full well you are putting this last fact to the test...
now remove your thumb from your nose... don't look nice... people will think you're a nose picker.

Dang it...... were you peeking?
I immediately had my finger to my nose as I was reading the last line and I jerked it down like someone had caught n me in the act.  ;D ;D

"The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica."

OK, my inquiring mind must know....is this just one brain cell? Which one, and how do I kick that one into gear? (I'm hoping it wasn't one of the casualties of my reckless youth!)

Also, just how in the world did someone arrive at this conclusion? How does one test a brain cell to see how much "information" it can hold?

Just a few personal observations:

-Scientists say the higher your I.Q., the more you dream.
(What does this say about those who claim they do not dream?)

-The largest cell in the human body is the female egg and the smallest is the male sperm.
(And to think those little swimmers get the job done!)

-You use 200 muscles to take one step.
(They do say that first step is the hardest...does this mean the longer you've been stepping, the fewer muscles it takes?)

-The average woman is 5 inches shorter than the average man.
(I'm 5 inches shorter than the average woman, but just the right height for an above-average woman!)

-Your big toes have two bones each while the rest have three.
(All I know is when I stub any of them, I'm lucky to have bones left!)

-A pair of human feet contains 250,000 sweat glands.
(Any mother of a teenaged boy already knows this.)

-A full bladder is roughly the size of a soft ball.
(No, this may be true of a man's bladder. A woman's is the size of a canteloupe when full.)

-The acid in your stomach is strong eno ugh to dissolve razor blades.
(So if you survive swallowing the blade, you won't have to worry about the "end" result?)

-The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica.
(I don't buy this. I've met people who have brain cells and they're not using them to hold anything close to that.)

-It takes the food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.
(With or without eating utensils?)

-The average human dream lasts 2-3 seconds.
(Maybe, but mine feel like they go on for hours, sometimes days.)

-Men without hair on their chests are more likely to get cirrhosis of the liver than men with hair.
(They're also more likely to get on the covers of fashion magazines.)

-At the moment of conception, you spent about half an hour as a single cell.
(And we were all too young to enjoy it.)

-There is about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
(Oh yeah? Who counted them?)

-Your body gives off enough heat in 30 minutes to bring half a gallon of water to a boil.
(At menopause, it's enough heat to launch a torpedo.)

-The enamel in your teeth is the hardest substance in your body.
(Harder than my skull? Nah.....)

-Your teeth start growing 6 months before you are born.
(And aren't we glad they stop before they outgrow our mouths?)

-When you are looking at someone you love, your pupils dilate, and they do the same when you are looking at someone you hate.
(They also dilate when I look at a slice of German chocolate cake or a pair of really cute shoes.)

-Your thumb is the same length as your nose.
And the span of your arms from fingertip to fingertip is your height. And the distance between your wrist and elbow is the length of your foot (I can just see folks testing this one, but it's true!) And the distance between your eyes is the width of one eye. And the size of your clenched fist is the size of your heart. Your two clenched fists together is the size of your brain. .... Aren't we just perfectly and lovingly designed?
