How funny.

Gosh, times have really changed.. But I bet if you couldn't lick your stamps , Carolyn would do it for you.
She babies everyone around here in the post office. Spoils us all rotten.
But it is so nice and she does give this small town that "home feeling" when you need something extra done .
In the big cities, they wouldn't even blink at you.. but I have had her call me on the phone and tell me that I didn't have enough postage on something so she bought the stamps and put them on for me..
Now do you get any better care than this ?

Small towns are great for that.  One of my daughters (when they were young) sent my mother a card with only Grandma Grace, Moline, KS 67353.  She received the card.  Thanks  to Janet.

I get mail all the time to just Teresa with the address.. and sometimes the address is wrong even.. but it gets in my box just the same.
The best one was ......The Perfect Hands, Howard Kansas.

Should have been The Perfect Touch and at least a box number, but it wasn't..  :)
but I sure got it anyway.. Not a problem in a small town.
I love it!

I know for years I would send letters to Grandma Gladys or Grandma Opal with just Howard, Kansas, and they always got through.

Ya'll are making me want to move back so bad.  This coming from a city girl too.  I can't believe all the years I lived in the big city and wouldn't have it any other way.  Now I long for the small town again.  It is so nice to leave your doors unlocked and not worry that anyone will just walk in, or that your car will be gone when you come out of the bank.  Peggy will laugh at this one but I miss the smell of the pigs, hahaha, the sound of the coyote's, WINTER-SNOW, Friday night football, 45 cent cones at Batson's, and fireworks on the 4th at the lake.  Maybe when the kids are grown I may come back.  I know you all will be as welcoming as you were when we first moved there in '99.  Sure do miss small town life.
