Lyle Lawrence Taylor passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the home of his daughter, Lila Taylor-Allen in Moline.  He was 99 years of age and a long time resident of the Howard and Moline area.  A complete obituary will be printed in next week's newspaper.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Robin Haines of the Flint Hills Assembly of God officiating.  A memorial has been established with the Flint Hills Assembly of God in Howard.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home.  The funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.

Lyle Lawrence Taylor passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at his home in Moline.  He was 99 years of age and a long time resident of the Howard and Moline area.

Lyle was born on April 10, 1908 at Fall River to James William and Mary Frances (Raney) Taylor.  He attended school and lived his early years in the Fall River community.

On Nov. 9, 1937, he married Mary Grace Brown at the Christian Church in Hot Springs, Ark., and to this union was born a daughter, Lila Sue.  Lyle was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was employed as a mechanic during most of his life.  He was preceded in death by his wife on March 6, 2003.

He is survived by his daughter, Lila Sue Taylor-Allen and her husband Earl of Moline; a grandson, Lyle Jack Riggs and his fiancee Tessa Logan and two great grandchildren, Garrett Riggs and Collin Logan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents; three sisters, Anice Dudgeon, Cora McCluskey and Mary Samuels, and two brothers, Elmer Taylor and Marion Taylor.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 9 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard with Pastor Robin Haines of the Flint Hills Assembly of God officiating.  Gene Patterson and Carl Cummings sang "The Great Speckled Bird" and "Life's Railway To Heaven."  A recording was played of Kenny Chesney singing "Grandpa Told Me So."

The honorary casket bearers were Lyle Riggs, Earl Allen, Anthony Minton, Adam Town, Jeff Town and Josh Maloy.
