Jane Renae Wassom, age 65, passed away October 25, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born on August 28, 1958 in Independence, Kansas to Roland Blackburn and Glady (Black) Blackburn.  She was later adopted by Rowland Jones.

Jane married Mark Spain, and they later divorced. She then married David Hickock, and they were married until his death.  She then married the love of her life, Sam Wassom, and was happily married until his passing in July 2012.

Jane is survived by her children, Lacie Spain and Donald Payne, Julie Reddick, and Adam and Kelsey Spain; her grandchildren, Dionne and Leilani Payne, Payton Crigger, Tierney Spain and Shelvin Rayner, and Lakin and Harper Spain; her great-grandchildren, Talon and Ivy Crigger, her sister, Rowlinda (Jones) Justus; her best friends, Ronda and Hunter Ballew and Kim and Lonnie Salter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close loved ones.  Jane is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Rowland and Glady Jones; her father, Roland Blackburn; her sisters, Dianna Morrison and Iown Adamson; and her brother, Glen Blackburn.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date, and she will be buried with the love of her life, Sam Wassom. Memorial donations may be made to the Jane Wassom Memorial Fund for her grandchildren.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
