Martin Wilmer Moomey of Severy, Kansas was born at Latham, Kansas on August 17, 1937 to Wilmer Lester and Virgelene M. (Robinson) Moomey.  After suffering a serious fall at his home on November 6, 2022, he was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas where he passed away on November 17, 2022.

Martin attended common school at Elk County's Upper Paw Paw School and later attended high school in both Piedmont and Severy, Kansas.  On August 29, 1957, Martin married Mary Louise Wilson at the Church of the Nazarene in Severy, Kansas.  Together they couple had three children, Marcia, Marilyn, and Mark.

Martin worked in building and trade.  He was mainly a crane operator and was a longtime member of Operating Engineers Local 101.

Martin is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Moomey; his daughters, Marcia Atchison of Eureka, Kansas and Marilyn Moomey of Durant, Oklahoma; a son, Mark Moomey of Emporia, Kansas; nine grandsons, Ryan (Emily) Atchison, Shaun Atchison, Seth (Devone) Atchison, Dwayne Frakes, Andy Frakes, Martin Allen Frakes, Jonathan (Edith) Moomey, Patrick (Ashley) Moomey, and Christopher Alan (Abby) Moomey; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Louther of Wahoo, Nebraska, Diane (Dennis) Odgaard of Columbus, Nebraska, and Vivian (Harold) Frana of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald Ray Moomey, and a sister, Corene V. Viers.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.
