Glenn Leroy Kaufman, age 93, of Elk Falls, Kansas, passed away on July 3, 2022 at the Joy Home in Oxford, Kansas.  He was born January 22, 1929 in Newton, Kansas, the youngest of five children to Harry and Annie (Boeckner) Kaufman.

As a young boy, Glenn could handle a team of horses with a plow and helped around the farm with milking, chores, and harvesting crops.  At age 17, he was part of a wheat harvest crew, and a year later, he invested in equipment and a crew of his own. 

Glenn attended Hesston Academy where he met the love of his life, Mary Yoder.  Glenn and Mary were married on February 25, 1949 in Hutchinson, Kansas. They were married for 72 years. Four children blessed their family, Gerald, Jane, Peggy, and Jeana. 

Over a span of 70 years, Glenn and Mary lived in six different farm and ranch locations raising dary and beef cattle, sheep, hogs, and horses.  Glenn loved his grandchildren and enjoyed giving rides on his tractor and horses to his six grandchildren, Cherry, Zach, Clint, Rachelle, Brenna, and Grant.

Glenn also worked sixteen years at the Hesston Corporation in Hesston, Kansas while farming.  He loved rodeos, horse shows, cattle auctions, and was instrumental in the organization of the Chisholm Trail Saddle Club.  He was a member of the Hesston Mennonite Church in Hesston, Kansas and attended the Howard Methodist Church in Howard, Kansas and Calvary Chapel in Elk Falls, Kansas.

Glenn's family will carry stories of dad and grandpa, the farm, and his memory to the generations to come.  He was a man that was greatly loved and will be missed by his family.

Glenn is survived by his children and their spouses, Gerald L (Jessie) Kaufman of Kansas City, Kansas, Jane L. (Steve) Fry of Elk Falls, Kansas, Peggy L. (Keith) Frye of Middlebury, Indiana, and Jeana L. (Ron) Schneider of Hesston, Kansas; his sister, Fern Bontrager of Hutchinson, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; a brother, Floyd Kaufman; and two sisters, Alta Graber and Erma Snyder.

A private burial has taken place near Hesston, Kansas.  Memorials have been suggested to Kindred Hospice and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Onlince condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
