Vera Louise "Sis" Lesher, age 80, of Howard, Kansas, passed away November 8, 2021.  She was born on October 16, 1941 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Reed and Hazel (Walker) Hart.

Sis grew up in Sedan, Kansas and the surrounding areas, and from a young age began to develop and nourish her relationship with "her Jesus".  She spent her time enjoying all that the Lord had provided her, splashing in mud puddles any chance she got, yardwork, making a trip to the casino every once in awhile, and playing Farkle with her friends at the Sedan Senior Center.  Most of all, Sis loved her family.  She had four children and many nieces and nephews, both related and adopted. That didn't make a difference because she loved them all.

Sis leaves behind three of her children, Richard Wells of Alaska, Bill (Bridgette) Lesher of Sedan, Kansas, and Heather (Richie) Nowlin of Mexico, Missouri; grandchildren, Nicky (Justin) Boente, Devenie (Matt) Beckham, Deanna (Jamie) Spann, Ashley (Tim) Anthony, J. J. (Hailey) Chatfield, Chris (Lakin) Boyce, and Taylor (Josh) Boyce; her many nieces and nephews; numerous great-grandchildren; extended family members; and her lifelong best friend, Deanna "Nanner" Buckner.  She was loved greatly by all of them.  Preceding her in death and welcoming her in Heaven are her parents; her brothers, Kelly and Steve Hart; a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Larry Chatfield; and a grandson, Aaron Chatfield.

A memorial service for Sis will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Howard, Kansas.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
