James A Ramsey, 66, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away July 6, 2021.  He was born in Independence, Kansas on August 16, 1954 to Evelyn Jane (Ambler) and Preston Clyde Ramsey, Sr. 

James graduated in 1972 from North Elk High School in Howard, Kansas.  He served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne.  He worked for 54 Auto and RV for many years and later decided to start his own business, Trailers and Hitches, which he owned for 20 years.  He was very proud of building his own business and loved his work. 

On April 22, 1988, James married Dala Hey, who survives him.  He is also survived by his daughter Kayla (Joe) Frazier of Augusta, Kansas; brothers, Preston "Junior" Ramsey of Trenton, Missouri and Billy Townsley of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Cindy Smith of Wichita, Kansas, Clara (Ron) Register of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Elaine (Gary) Burt of Fall River, Kansas; and grandchildren, Harper, James, and Hollyn Jo Frazier.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepdad, J.L "Jim" Townsley. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 1550 N. Chapel Hill Street, Wichita, Kansas at 10:30 a.m.  Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  A memorial has been established for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.  Services have been entrusted to Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta, Kansas.
