Darrel Wesley Moore, age 71, of Grenola, Kansas, passed away on April 3, 2019 at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas.  He was born September 20, 1947 in Independence, Kansas to Howard and Ruth (Barnaby) Moore.

Growing up with one sibling, he attended school and graduated from Grenola High School.  He spent 5 years in the United States Army and was a current member of the Carter-Rader American Legion Post #149 in Howard, Kansas.  On April 5, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Beth Harrington.  They were soon to celebrate 51 years together.

Darrel worked in the construction industry, owning his own equipment.  He worked hard but always found time to fish and hunt, especially coon hunting.  He was very active with his kids and grandkids, participating in 4-H activities with them and coaching youth baseball. 

Darrel is survived by his wife, Beth of the home; his sons, Allen and wife, Michelle Moore of Grenola, Kansas and Scott Moore of Winfield, Kansas; his grandchildren, Shelby and husband, Brice Bailey, Alli Moore, Alisha Moore, and Erin Moore; his sister, Judy and husband, Jack Perrigo of Grenola, Kansas; his sisters-in-law, Mary Miller and Carolyn Chrisman, both of Winfield, Kansas; his brother-in-law, Jim and wife, Janet Harrington of Howard, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Sissy and Gus.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grenola Community Hall in Grenola, Kansas.  Memorials can be made to the Greenlawn Cemetery Shelter Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
