Duane Charles Dingman, 72, of Americus, Kansas, died October 27, 2017 at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia, Kansas.  He was born December 4, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of William Charles and Erma Blanche (Hough) Dingman.

Duane worked as a production manager at Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia and then as a receiving manager at Dolly Madison Bakery before retiring from DeBauge Brothers in 2001 as the warehouse manager.  He was a member of the Americus United Methodist Church in Americus, Kansas.  He was a pilot and built an experiential plane.  Duane and his wife, Rita, enjoyed being Geritol Gypsies and spent 5 months out of the year in South Padre Island, Texas.

Duane married Shirley Burenheide, and they later divorced.  He then married Rita Gragg.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of the home; son, Darin (Alicia) Dingman of Emporia, Kansas; daughters, Mechele (Ed) Tijerina of Oklahoma and Elizabeth Edington of Mayetta, Kansas; stepsons, Randy (Diana) Hizar of Emporia, Kansas and Troy Minor of Neosho Falls, Kansas; stepdaughter, Holly (Greg) French of Admire, Kansas; sister, Deanna Jaffey of Clermont, Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Lee Leonard; and his brother, Daryl William Dingman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia, Kansas.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Americus United Methodist Church, 413 Walnut Street, Americus, Kansas with Pastor Nancy Mathis officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Americus United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas 66801 which is in charge of arrangements.
