Lawrence Mark "Larry" Vanderhider III, age 63 of Longton, Kansas, died September 27, 2017 at his home.  He was born on July 8, 1954 in Houston, Texas, the son of Lawrence Mark II and Nancy Jane (Mills) Vanderhider.

Larry worked most of his life as a Fitter/Welder.  On January 7, 2000 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Larry married Linda Jean Smallwood.  She survives at their home.  Earlier in life while living in Texas, Larry took in and cared for rescued horses.  He loved to BBQ, go camping and fishing, and do carpentry work.  Most of all, Larry loved his family and visiting with his friends.

Including his wife, Linda, Larry is survived by his daughter, Christina Nicole Vanderhider of Cherryvale, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Vanderhider; and his sister, Goldia Lindow.

Cremation has been requested with no services currently planned.  The family requests memorial donations to help defray funeral expenses which may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O.
