Mother,

Did you see that in the Moline 8th grade graduates there was a kid named Doc?  I point this out to my mother because she had an uncle named Doc.

Wilma

I wonder if Doc was his real name.  My Uncle Doc's name was Darwin Isaac.  He was called Doc because one time when a doctor was at the home, probably delivering another baby, little Darwin picked up the doctor's bag and carried it around.  Little Darwin was no. 2 of 14.

Decided to do a little checking on 'Doc' Stiles.  In the 1910 census, he is listed as Doc, age 7.  In the 1920 census he is listed as Doc William.  In the MHS Class of 1921 class photograph he is captioned Doc Stiles.  Finally in the 1930 census, he is William Stiles.  Doesn't really settle anything does it?  Might take a family member to solve this one.

Dan, those tidbits were some interesting pieces to this puzzle.  Don't you just love these "genealogy teasers?" I wonder if there might be any of those family members out there "lurking" on this site, that would be able to put the puzzle together for us.
