HOWARD---  Glenn David Ferguson, 71, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Independence. He was a longtime Elk County resident.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Spurrier Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Hatfield, pastor of the Church of God at Peck, Kan., officiating.  Interment will be in the Longton cemetery.

Glenn D. Ferguson was born July 21., 1903 at Alva, Okla., the son of Joseph and Minnie (Gerloff) Ferguson.  He moved to Oak Valley with his family at an early age.  On Dec. 30, 1929, he married Edwina Mansfield and she survives at the home in Howard.

They moved to Moline in 1932, where he was in the insurance business.  In 1965, they moved to Howard, where Ferguson was associated with the Elk County Maintainance Shop. He was a member of the Christian Church and IOOF Lodge, both of Moline.

Survivors in addition to the widow of the home include one son, Gene R. of Austin, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Penhorwood, Howard and Mrs. Lester Dexter, Longton and two grandchildren.
