     Last winter they burned most of a load of hay on 169 highway North of Cherryvale.   A load ended up in the ditch on both sides of the highway and they threw a match.   Of course last year hay was worth a fraction of what it is this winter.

It would have been absolutely funny if it were true. Very, very Kansan. I wanted to rush right out and take a picture of the burning bale - or the remains - but I didn't know where it happened, either, other than on Highway 400.

Oh well . . .

Sighhh.. Oh well, there will  be many more other times that you will get to play "Lois Lane".
