Catalonia will be free!

Of course, any form of nationalism can devolve into a statist horror, but the general principle of support to all efforts to break down the centralized State into its smaller constituent parts still holds. And in the Catalan case, support for independence is indicated by what is motivating the majority of the populace to separate from Spain: Madrid is using Catalonia's relatively productive economy as a cash cow, which they hope to milk unto eternity. After many decades of patiently negotiating, compromising, and hoping, the Catalans have finally said: Enough!

To which liberty-lovers all over the world can only add: Catalunya serà lliure! Catalonia will be free!
