Blake Dean Shinkle, 25, lifelong resident of Fredonia and Fall River, Kansas, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his residence.  He was born March 25, 1990 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Kaila Shinkle.

Blake was a graduate of Fredonia High School and had attended Pittsburg State University.  He was currently employed by Cross B. Chows in Fall River, Kansas.

Blake spent many years helping his grandmother with her show dogs, caring for, grooming, and handling dogs at shows across the United States.  He enjoyed his time with family and friends and loved to go fishing.

His survivors include his mother, Kaila Shinkle and her companion, Greg Houser of Fredonia, Kansas; his stepbrother, Isaac Houser of Fredonia, Kansas; and his grandmother, Janet Burke of Fall River, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pat Burke.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Timmons Funeral Home with Rev. Gene  Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating.  Burial will be in the Weakley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established in Blake's name with the Fall River Booster Club, and donations can be sent to or left with the funeral home.  Timmons Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736 is in charge of the arrangements.
