David Eugene Kraft, 57, of Severy, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  He was born September 19, 1957 to Alford Eugene Kraft and Jovannah Sue (Morgan) Kraft in Ellsworth, Kansas.

David was united in marriage to Kathy Bunyard on October 23, 1976 in Severy, Kansas.  He was an auto mechanic and worked for Severy Auto Salvage for 15 years.  He then opened his own auto mechanic shop.  He was very good at taking old cars and machinery and making them new again.  David enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and rock picking.  He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

David was a member of the MAMR and was a devoted sponsor of 4-H, volleyball teams, and other school events.  He also played a big part in getting mud runs strted at the Annual Howard Mud Runs.

David is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; his mother, Sue Reily; his sons, Rodger Kraft and his wife, Kristina of Severy, Kansas and Steven Kraft of Howard, Kansas; his sisters, Debbie Sommers of Altoona, Kansas and Diane Kelley of Chanute, Kansas; and his brother, Mike Kraft of Fredonia, Kansas.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kayla, Katie, and Kyzer Kraft as well as numerous aunts and uncles.  He is preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has taken place.  The family is planning a memorial service on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Severy Baptist Church.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Severy Labor Day Celebration or the Severy Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
