Henryetta Opal Craig, age 88, the only daughter of Henry W. and Minnie (Kahle) Pape, was born June 9, 1926 in rural Wilsey, Kansas.  She departed this life September 17, 2015 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas.

Henryetta attended rural schools in Morris, Labette, Butler, and Greenwood counties.  She graduated from Climax, Kansas High School in 1944.  On September 28, 1947, she was united in marriage with Wilbur Merle Craig at Iola, Kansas.  To this union, seven children were born.

Henryetta taught rural school after graduation.  She worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas.  She had her own custom quilting business and was a cook and waitress at several cafes near Severy, Kansas.  In December 2011, she moved into assisted living in El Dorado, Kansas.

Henryetta is survived by two sons, Kenneth Craig and his wife, Dee of Washburn, Missouri and Robert Craig and his wife, Linda of Howard, Kansas; two daughters, Della Kirkendall and her husband, Richard of Haysville, Kansas and Wanda Nusz and her husband, Larry of Severy, Kansas; her daughter-in-law, Patty Craig of Severy, Kansas; her brothers, Dave and Junior Pape; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur on December 10, 2011; her parents; her brothers, Walter and Dan Pape; her son, Merle Craig; and her twins, Earl and Erline Craig.

Graveside services will be held September 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Twin Grove Cemetery in Severy, Kansas with Pastors Bob Robinson and Tom Boerma officiating.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, Kansas 67349 which is in charge of arrangements.
