There is a special Howard City Council meeting scheduled for tonight, Monday, June 9, 2014 at the City Clerk's office at 7:30 p.m.  Discussion will be held concerning the finances at the Howard Twilight Manor.

Please come and show support for our nursing home.  The city council needs the community's input and ideas to keep the Howard Twilight Manor operating.  Please help make a difference and get involved!!!

According to this morning's paper, the nursing home was built in Howard in 1967 with a capacity of 50 residents.

Today's residents number 30, which is the breakeven point for operation.

The nursing home is not for sale, however.

The nursing home is Howard's largest employer, employing 45 full and part time people. This makes me wonder who the largest employer in Elk County is.

"One of the most expensive county-seat wars in terms of time and money lost..." Dr. Homer E Socolofsky, KSU
