The high school in which the shooting took place in Centennial, Colorado, today, has 70 classrooms with a total of 254,000 square feet.

There are two gyms plus a swimming pool, two soccer fields, three baseball fields, and four tennis courts besides football and track. The name of one gym is Sitting Eagle Gymnasium. Total capacity is 2,200 students.

The school's mascot is the Arapahoe Warrior. An agreement with the Arapahoe Nation specifies that the mascot warrior image will never appear on any floor or on any uniform to prevent the image from being defiled by walking on or rubbing in the dirt. No pictures of the mascot are displayed at games.
