Mildred "Millie" Cole of Eureka, Kansas died peacefully at her residence at the age of 70.  She was born on January 2, 1943 in Yates Center, Kansas, the daughter of Aaron and Rebecca (Park) Hamilton.

Millie attended Yates Center High School, graduating in 1961.  On June 25, 1961, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Cole in Osage City, Kansas.  After her marriage, she and Bill ran a restaurant in Madison, Kansas.  In 1969, they moved to Eureka, Kansas.  Millie worked in various jobs - daycare, waitress, a flooring store, and rebuilding saddles.  On September 1, 1975, she and Bill opened their own auto repair shop where Millie was the bookkeeper and assisted with all aspects of the business.  She retired in 2013.

Millie was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church where she was the church treasurer from 1987 to 2013.  She was also the secretary/treasurer of the Greenwood County Crimestoppers and a member of the Greenwood County Cancer Support Group.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; children, Joanna and husband, Marty Hunter of Howard, Kansas, Diana Cole of Mission, Kansas, and Daniel Cole of Baldwin City, Kansas; sisters, Clara Griffin of Eureka, Kansas, Myrtle Cardell of Iola, Kansas, and Ella Dill of Wichita, Kansas; 7 grandchildren, Chris Hunter, his wife Dana, and their two children of Manhattan, Kansas, Clay Hunter of Wichita, Kansas, Amanda Linton of Lincoln, Nebraska, Anthony Huston and his son, Bentley of Waverly, Kansas, Ashlyn Cole of Atlanta, Georgia, Brooklyn Cole of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Carlyn Cole of Baldwin City, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family to include Shawn Goepfert and Kodi Scates.  The youngest of 10 children, Millie is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak Street, Eureka, Kansas.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
