Lillian "Naomi" (Harrod) Hinkle of Valley Center, Kansas, age 83, passed away in Wichita, Kansas on Friday, October 12, 2012. She was a homemaker and retired Floral Shop co-owner, loving mom, grandma, aunt, and friend.    She was born in Piedmont, Kansas on January 28, 1929 to William Watson Harrod and Ada Lillian (Stone) Harrod.  She was raised in Howard, Kansas by her Aunt Daisy Moore and "Aunt" Hazel Moore.

Naomi attended and graduated from Howard High School, Class of 1947, in Howard, Kansas.  She was a telephone operator in Howard.  On October 10, 1948, she married the love of her life, Wallace DuWayne Hinkle.  The Hinkles were members of the Valley Center First United Methodist Church, and the last ten years, Cornerstone Christian Church. 

Naomi is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Lyman Covey of Valley Center, Kansas and Kim and Paul Harrison of Wichita, Kansas; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amy Hinkle of Liberal, Kansas; grandchildren, Karah Covey, Kylie Covey, Eric Harrison and wife, Sara, Kyle Harrison, Holly Hinkle, and Cade Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Crockett Harrison; mother-in-law, Helen Hinkle of Howard, Kansas; cousins, Carolyn Houser of Sherman Oaks, California and Joyce and Al Ferkovich of Seattle, Washington; and many nephews, nieces and other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, "W.D." DuWayne Hinkle; her parents, William and Ada Harrod; and siblings, Dale Harrod, Ralph Harrod, Glenn Harrod, Geraldine Triplett, Kenneth Harrod, Chet Harrod, and Dallas Harrod.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center, Kansas.  Service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian, 5531 E. 27th North, Wichita, Kansas.  Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Memorials are suggested to Cornerstone Christian or the American Cancer Society Renal Research, 300 S. Main, Suite 100, Wichita, Kansas 67202.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
