Bette J. (Hileman) Goff, 87, passed away August 3, 2012 after a courageous struggle with lung cancer.  She grew up in Elk County, Kansas, the daughter of I.V. "Boots" Hileman and Mildred Mae (Green) Hileman.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Janice (Lanning) Flannery and husband, Bill; brothers, Jack Hileman and wife, Shirley and Max Hileman and wife, Edie; granddaughters, Sherry Holdeman and Sheila Grayson; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and beloved friends, Alice Broome, Bradys Bagley, Mary Lou Black, and Bette Barnett.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Goff; and her son, Jack Lanning.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Summer Grove United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Officiating will be Rev. Mark Bray and Rev. Wiliis Dear.  Inurnment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Cresco Cemetery north of Howard, Kansas with Pastor Robin Haines officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summer Grove United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.  A heartfelt thank you to all the "angels" who were by our side these past few months, our church family, friends, the staff of St. Joseph Hospital, and especially her hospice nurse, Amy Ringheim.
