Albert Adam Heisler, oldest son of William Phillip and Elizabeth Heisler was born in Richland county, Ohio, February 9, 1859 and passed away at his home north of Cresco January 3, 1937 at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

He was married to Julia Freed on February 17, 1888 and to this union were born three children, Frederick, Myrtle and James.

They joined the Cresco church in 1900 and remained faithful members until a tornado destroyed the church.  They then transferred their membership to Salem Free Baptist church of Paw Paw.

His wife passed away January 14, 1922 (?).  He has since made his home with his son James and wife who have cared for him lovingly and faithfully through a number of years of suffering, he having had a stroke several years ago and being an invalid.  He was a good neighbor and loving and kind father.

He lived in this home since 1877 and being a lover of flowers had acquired some skill in developing the unusual in plants.  His home was surrounded by them.

He is survived by his three children, Fredrick Heisler of Alaska; Mrs. Myrtle Cox and James Heisler of Howard; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; four sisters and two brothers; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Lupton of Aberdeen, Washington, having preceeded him in death.  The remaining sisters and brothers are Mrs. Mary Johnson of Redding, California; Mrs. Sophia Mitchell, Mrs. Elizsbeth Forbes, and Mrs. Emily Damitio of Aberdeen, Washington, and W. P. and C. E. Heisler of Howard.

The funeral services were conducted at the Moon Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 5, 1937 by Rev. J. B. Bunch of the Howard Baptist church.  Burial was in Grace Lawn cemetery, Howard.
