Eldon L. Munday, age 83, a resident of the Howard Twilight Manor, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011.  He was born on April 14, 1928 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the son of Dewey and Rila Ann (Newton) Munday.

On December 31, 1949, Eldon was united in marriage to Bonnie Wolfe at Sedan, Kansas.  They later divorced.  On June 7, 1965, he married Mae Beatrice "Bea" Wells at Wellington, Kansas.  They operated a restaurant in Dexter, Kansas and ran a hog farm until moving to McPherson, Kansas where Eldon owned the Mobil Oil bulk business.  Eldon attended the Grenola Christian Church, and later the Moline Christian Church.

Eldon is survived by his son, Tom Munday of Havana, Kansas; his daughters, Nancy Lawhorn of Copan, Oklahoma and Carol Artherton of Havana, Kansas; his stepson, Leon Wells of Grenola, Kansas; his sisters, Elrena Munday of Dexter, Kansas and Erma Stone of Arkansas City, Kansas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bea; his son, Richard; his brother, E. W. (Dub); his sister, Ellen; and his stepdaughter, Judy Wolfe.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.  There is no visitation.  Family suggests contributions be made to the Twilight Manor Nursing Home in Howard, Kansas and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E.
