Janet, milk is not good for cats. can give them scours..............and colic and I know we were all brain washed  cats love milk, well I love chocolate and fried pastries..............any of them, and no I can't have them 24/7...............
if it is in food (like gravy, or dried, it isn't so bad.
You know that cat is proving that he is boss of you and you will give him what he wants. LOL
I know you are no patsy, but you are dealing with a cat and a male to boot............he will eat when he is hungry and till then, wait him out.
You go to work so you will have a few hours of not paying attention to "HIS HIGHNESS" Hang in there
